I made a little mistake today that could be very beneficial down the road. It all started when I was minding my own business and I showed up for my weekly networking lunch in Ventura. I walked into the normal room that I meet everyone. I looked around and didn't recognize one person. So, I figured I must be early and this group hasn't finished yet. I tried to get out unnoticed but it was too late. A man walked up to me, so I introduced myself. "Hi, my name is Tara." He responded, "Hi Tara, what are you doing here today?" I said, "Well, I think I am in the wrong room." He said, "That's too bad. We are all retired Doctors that get together once a month and share new ideas." I knew I was in the wrong room. I laughed it off. Go figure, I would be in the wrong room. It was so coincidental, but I responded,t"That is interesting. I sell and market for a medical technology company." He said, "Stay and sell your stuff. By this time I had 5 men surround me (all over the age of 65). I said, "Well, I would like to but you have someone else coming to talk to you about another idea. I am not about to step on toes, especially since I shouldn't have been here in the first place." I politely excused myself and made sure to make a raincheck for another time. When my luncheon was coming to an end and with just a few people left I told them what happened. They immediatley pushed me out the door and told me to go back. A few doctors where still left, so I asked if they allowed new speakers to come into their group. The two men directed me to the man in charge, and he took all of the information I could give him and said they where booked for the next two meetings. I told him that's fine.
So I guess what I have deducted is everything happens for a reason. Just make sure you know it when you see it. But, sometimes it just takes that extra push from people who care about you.

Yesterday
This week has gone by in a blink of an eye. I guess, when you stay busy you don't pay attention to what day it is. I was out of town until mid week, but when I arrived home I felt like it should be Monday. Recollecting where I actually was on Monday, I remembered, I was at the family condo in Palm springs. It was a super quiet and relaxing day and I was making some new jewelry(it's a very small hobby of mine). That day, I also took my grandma to the grocery store and ended it with nice glass of Wild Horse Merlot. I guess it wasn't too bad for a Monday. Today is now Friday. I started the day like every other. I woke up, let the dog out, and made my tea. By 9 am Andrew and I were out the door on our way to meet a friend for breakfast. While driving, another friend asked if we could meet up for lunch. "Sure," I said. So, at noon, I was off to lunch. If this is my work week, I never want to go back to what others call a job. I get to hang out with my friends and get paid. I love the fact I control when and where I get to do things and not having to ask for permission to run my life. Ended are the days I work for someone else who doesn't have my best interest at heart. This is why I love what I do. I have the power to help people take their dreams back, and enjoy life again. To give freedom is the best job I think I could ever have. "A man is literally what he thinks." -James Allen. This is so true if you have the courage and determination it takes to work at it everyday. Wishing about it every once in awhile, unfortunately, doesn't do a thing.
